I saw this news article about how Leonardo da Vinci used a technique called 'sfumato' in his paintings, thought a cassette lover or two out there might find it interesting!

it's unique how the first wakeskate vid.......linear perspective represents distinct lines.......and the second video, sfumato, those lines are refined perhaps softened.

whatever the connection may be......and tis sure more than meets the eye, now that i think of it.......look how similar Da Vinci's penciled sketches are to the Mack drawings on the early cassette decks.

Leonardo Da Vinci may be remebered along side greats like Thomas Horrell

RISE-WITH-THE-FALLEN, very interesting

that is a really good article. I saw something about da vinci on the history channel about two years ago or so and at that time they mentioned something to the degree of da vinci having his own technique with the sfumato effect and they really didn't know how he did it (again, that's not verbatim but that was the idea). Of course that made me think about how special cassette and sfumato were in wakeskating--absolutely one of a kind, irreplacable, and impossible to replicate in its truest form!

I dont' know if there's a lot to the linear perspective name...I thought there was more, especially with the effects and editing but ultimately I was told that they named that video as they did because zero was studying da vinci at the time.
