Have you guys heard about this yet? Rob Dyrdeck/DC/Monster could possibly change professional skateboarding forever. An exclusive 'league' with 24 athletes (all signed on like NFL, UFC...). He already has most of the top names in skating signed on to the tour.
- 3 stops
- just signed 2 year TV contract with ESPN
- 1.2 mil purse (largest ever in skateboarding)
- 24 athletes
- if you sign onto street league you can ONLY COMPETE IN 2 OTHER COMPETITIONS for the entire year.
What are your thoughts?
I have mixed feelings about this, but if it works, its gonna be game changing. _________________ "it is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation." |

I'm excited to see this! I didn't know they could only compete in 2 other comps the whole year! I guarantee its maloof and tampo pro that you'll see everyone at if they aren't skating in street leauge. |

contractual agreements like that are lame, but nfl players have stipulations of what sports they can do outside football. only good if they get a base salary for being in the league _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. example: that kobyashi dude wouldn't enter some contest because he couldn't compete in the us or canada for a year b/c of the contract. i have never known of someone in our sport and wakeboarding not allowed to do events b/c they have a sponsor. usually sponsors want their riders to go and represent them at contests. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. I'm definitely intrigued by this. I've always kind of been against this sort of thing but the level of skating is so high right now that it's kind of nice to take some of the big players out of most of the comps.
This way the kids who are killing it can finally win some comps and get some recognition while the true masters of the sport can keep pushing themselves in a league that really showcases their level of skating. |

What if someone comes up and wants to join? Expand it? Drop the last place skater to place Mr. New in? It will be hard to do things like that with individuals opposed to the comparison of NBA or NFL... |

That was actually a very sick contest. Nyjah finally didn't have judges to screw him over.. Well deserved win. _________________ NORML.org
