So I just went out for the third time today and it went well. I'm getting better at edging and I can slowly work my way into a lip slide. Also, getting up is a breeze for me now. I'm really happy because I used to plow through the water but now I just pop right up and start planing.

Anyways, so I tried ollieing a few times today but failed miserably. I hold on with only one hand when I start preparing for the ollie but as soon as I put hard pressure on my back foot to get the pop the board gets kinda wobbly and I make it about an inch off the ground and fall when I hit the water again Razz So I was hoping some of you guys can give me some tips on how to maybe stabilize myself before the ollie so I can prepare to do it? It's kinda hard to explain my problem without showing you guys but I hope I explain good enough. xD

throw a fin on it. instead of trying to ollie, try unweighting your front foot repeatedly. like your riverdancing almost. don't lift it off the board, but unweight it. eventually you'll get the right motion and can start pushing on the back foot and learning the real deal

Keep the handle in close to your lead hip. This will help prevent you from going out the front. Also when you cut out into the flats make sure you flatten out before you try and ollie... I would say once you get out into the flats count to 2 seconds and then ollie. This will help you stay square with your skate.
