I did a search but it was returning nothing that answered my question.. I bought a gator wood wakeskate brand new. Before I took it out the first time i filled the 8 holes for the extra fins or w/e with candle wax.. so I go and ride it.. A week later(today) I go to ride it and i notice where the main center holes are for the fins that i did not fill with wax have long cracks.. I have heard before you take out a wood skate you should reseal it.. what does this entail? spar urethane? epoxy? what? and is it too late to do it now? if i do it now will I have problems in the future with these cracks? thanks in advance for the help..

if everyone had the "its kinda messed up but who cares" attitude about everything where would we be? call your retailer and/or gator boards and talk to them.

its a hunk of wood. when you put wood in the water and let it dry repeat repeat thats what happens, its the nature of the beast. if ya dont want to deal with it, then but a composite board.

yeah my first board was a gator board and it cracked down the side after about 3 weeks so i guess its kind of normal for those boards. I just went back to my retailer and got a refund to buy a new board
