I'm not a hater (so suck it! ) but these tricks are more like foot plants than no complys.

yeah, I initially said that without seeing that the remote dudes didn't even call it a no comply. I just felt disappointed with that classification when it's not that at all...but it's totally bad to the bone none the less and ben's the man. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| That was just crazy. Definitely a footplant, but Alliance probably just messed that up. |

No Comply
1. Similar to a boneless except you don't use your hand to lift the skateboard after stepping off the board. Bizarelly, after popping the skateboard with your back foot you then use your back knee to knock the board forward and level before jumping on it off of your front foot.
looked like a No-Comply to me _________________ www.jimizwakenskate.com

I know what a no comply is. Years ago the skateboard mag had a great sequence of ray barbee doing one. I can't find it so I'll use this to illustrate the difference between what's going on in wakeskating and how it's actually done on a skateboard...

I still think it's a 180 with a brief foot plant. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

so are you calling it a 180 foot plant because he does not level the board out with his knee? i mean i dig the fact that you are trying to keep things real, but isn't that at least the wakeskate version of a no comply 180? _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. electricsnow, well then we might as well start calling our hardflips... front shuv kickflips and our varial heels....varial late toe flips
mojo, thank you, I mean its not even a split second after he pops that he's sliding his foot off _________________ www.jimizwakenskate.com

I just think the way the foot is planted (and for how long) is a big part of the trick. I'm not even looking at his knee because when you do a no comply180 you don't really use your knee anyway. But the trick is a sequence of events. Wakeskaters don't do it like that, and especially in ben's example, his foot isn't even planted that long, and the rotation as a whole just looks more like a 180 with a foot plant than what a no-comply actually looks like. Especially when you no comply 180, you plant your foot first, then pop and initiate the rotation with your back foot.
Here's the thing, this is wakeskating, not skateboarding. Why miss apply something when it's not ours to begin with? That's the way I see it, and I dont' feel too bad about it either. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |
