| Almost 40 years old and i just discovered wakeskating.I bought a boat last night and am hardcore enough to skate all winter.I live in the Texas hill country so the winter is not all bad.Are those baggy wetsuits bombproof? |

elvisleg,
That is sick man. I hope I am still that hardcore at 40!
The "baggy wet suite" is actually called a dry suite. If the seals are kept up, they are very effective. You can layer your clothes underneath to the point where you will actually get hot. But if a seal starts to leak, then you will get water inside of the suite. If you buy one brand new, then the seals should be good to go for a while, you will just have to maintain them to keep them in good shape. |

| how cold does it get in texas hill??? i dont think you will need a dry suit unless it goes belew 60 on a regualr basis. they are a lot of money and dont last near as long as a good full suit. wat kind of boat did you pick up? im only 19 and i hope to hell i stay with it till im older. |

| headhuntermx4 brings up a good point. I was assuming that it is cold enough in Texas Hill to justify a dry suite. A full wet suite would be much more durable if you think it will keep you warm enough. |

| I got an 18 foot Invader with the trailer and fat sack.it is a 1988 model so it is not areal live wake boat.It will get cold here.colder than Orlando which is where I started.O-TOWN was so cool.Glen was a good teacher and it sure beat OWC.Ihave been a rock climber for years so I guess that is how I stayed in shape. |

well like i havent riden an orlando winter yet but i have in tampa which is real close. i went out all last winter...some days were miserable and some were fine. i think the coldest i went out last year was 55-60 with a wind chill of much lower. i rode with a 3mm full suit i picked up for 100$. the one thing i needed was wet suit style socks and i would of been golden. this year i will have them.
as far as the boat...with wakeskating big rampy wakes arent needed so you should have a blast. i ride 90% of the time on a honda aquatrax ski that has like no wake(but a nice no wake at that!) and some times i go out on my roomates 01 super air and honestly im not a fan of big wake riding. |

I wanna see a guy wear a business suit under a drysuit, land back at the dock, take off the drysuit, pick up a briefcase, and walk off. |
