So now that I've moved in to my new place, I'm really trying to cut down on the amount of junk I've accumulated over the years and make a little extra cash in the process; so I've turned to ebay. Anyone have tips for keeping my shipping costs to me low (or for increasing the S&H you can charge the buyer)? I was thinking about giving those USPS flat-rate boxes but didn't know if there was anything else out there that I could keep an eye out for.

usps flat rate boxes are the way to go but of course it depends on the item and the size of it.

integrity640, I just offloaded a bunch of old video games (i collected all that stuff for a while but now just have an NES and an Atari 2600 that I'm not selling since I still play them).

Since those are all gone now its pretty much just random junk that I'm finding as I go. Old digital camera, random computer parts. I actually just sold an empty cardboard nixon watch box, it's amazing what people will buy. Anything you're looking for? haha.

TWG, Ever try to sell a PS2 and games on craigslist? The only responses I got were super sketchy. Plus eBay can potentially get you a bigger audience.

eBay has wicked fees and them paypal fees. So it you want 50 for something, better sell it for 65+ship. Craigslist can be good as no fees but careful. I know a guy who sold an iPhone on craigslist and ended up getting robbed at gunpoint. So make sure it's nothing too valuable.

As for eBay and shipping. Just be sure to box it youself if you have extra boxes laying around. Waaaaay cheaper. I have a huge box just for packing peanuts for this reason.

Toxis, that dude is an idiot. I never do craigslist transactions alone or without some kind of back up plan. If you catch my drift.

GnarShredd, no and i wouldn't. Good luck!

I use Craigslist and eBay religiously. The way I see it is if you are looking to sell something, use eBay. If you are looking to buy something, use Craigslist.

TWG, Actually there were a lot of people getting robbed by some guy at gunpoint in Kansas City last year. It was on the news and everything. So it wasn't entirely the sellers fault it happened.
