mojo, they are first gen Mac products, they will have LOTS of problems. People are pretty much paying for a betta version of a giant IPod Touch.... Neutral

Well, it's true. Never ever EVER buy a 1st generation Apple product. They always seem to have problems and/or recalls.

So I played with one for like 15min. in the store (where I posted from). It's REALLY cool for about 30 seconds then your brain takes over (seriously, just swiping your hand across it and moving the icons is super awesome at first.). Apps didnt' look that great (even though they had the "HD" moniker) and the one thing I really wanted to check out, HD video, wasn't loaded on to/accessible on the unit I was using.

I'm REALLY interested in a tablet (or tablet-like) form factor. But definitely not a fan of the ipad's interface. Maybe over the next few generations.... and a price decrease

mojo, Have you seen the Microsoft Courier concepts? Pretty interesting. Not quite in the same vein as the ipad/full tablets, it's more like a notebook. I'd use the hell out of something like that and really hope it comes to market without a whole lot of dumbing-down.

Also, I'm all for open use (PC's FTW!) but I was thinking about it and I actually kind of like the restrictions placed on the iphone/ipad (to an extent, I think apple goes a bit far). It really does keep your system in line and speedy and you really need to approach something like this with a different perspective. Yes, it's a computer, but it's built for a specific use (in the ipad's case, a just a toy).
