NO WAKE jupiter/Tequesta

If you skate in jupiter/tequesta or know someone who does then you may have noticed over the past year FWC has been enforcing a no wake zone in almost every place there was to ride on the loxahatchee river. Many boarders have already got tickets for riding. There is a meeting next week where community input will be heard and we need support. The plan is to propose a speed limit of 25mph in the river which would of course allow wake skating. I included the messages I received below to give more info. Thanks.

Okay everyone, it is time to get out there and get some signatures!!!

The meeting will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 7:00pm at the Jupiter Recreation Center behind the Police Station on Military Trail.

We have attached the Petition to keep the river at 25 mph, please get as many signatures as you can and bring them to the meeting (remember to make a copy for our records- the copies will be collected by Dick & Barbara Wirth)

Also attached is a page that describes the Meeting that will be held on 4-22-09, location etc. Please make copies and distribute this to as many people as well. We want to have the place overflowing with supporters to get the River restored to 25 Mph.

As you know, boat speeds have been reduced on the Loxahatchee River. We believe this reduction mandated by the Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC) (successor to the Florida Inland Navigation District) is improper and not supported by Florida’s regulations and past practice. For many years we have enjoyed safe boating on the River and now we have had our rights restricted.

The Jupiter Inland District is hosting a meeting on this and other agencies including FWC will be in attendance to hear community input.
It is very important that we get as many people as possible to attend this meeting. Please plan to attend and bring as many supporters as you can to this important meeting and also forward this notice on to other interested parties. Decisions in past meetings have been influenced by the large number of citizens attending.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 7:00pm at the Jupiter Recreciation Center behind the Police Station on Military Trail.

dude, my friend's has been talking to the head of the sheriffs department (they are best friends) and his sheriff friend has told them to get off our nuts and that's why there hasn't been really any tequesta / jupiter cops back there writing tickets. Its been the FWC. And they cant control what the FWC does. The guy who wrote all these rules for our river always intended it to be a recreational boating area. But i guess some new moron became head of whatever and started interpreting the rules in a different way.

I haven't been caught yet. And we are the ones out there riding the most. I guess we've been getting lucky. They haven't said anything about my rail yet either...

Glad to hear from you EJ. Spread the word for sure, I want to get as many people out as possible.

We have not been caught either and have been out there as much as possible.

bob., different chris Bobby this chris is the one who did alot of the trick tips of this website back in the day, hes a shredder and an OG.

whaler, i wish i could come Chris, unfortunately, i have 3 finals on the 23rd... this is depressing. I live in the back, s-bend, and ive only been able to ride after 5 or 6 for 30 mins ish, whenever im home from Boca. Its been a hassel. Keep it real. Hope alot of people show up Sad

whaler, ohhh true true. i used to see you shredding out in North Fork all the time. I have the Little 17th fishing boat named the CRIMSON TIDE. but now i live in orlando but ill home this summer will def. have to shred sometime bruuu

u guys gotta head up to the south fork of the st. lucie in martin county...its 25 and we got a pretty nice spot

hope u guys get a bunch of peoplt out to the meeting though

kornhouse, i beat him by a good 15 seconds and wiped the jetski into the beach and ran up to the house

i saw him staring at the dock but he did not do anything other than that
