I realize they are two different companies, but why such a huge price difference in essentially the same product/concept ? What makes wood works board almost a 100 dollars more?

McLOVIN, woodworks and new are totally different. woodworks uses different wood, epoxy resin and shapes than new. two separate companies _________________

EJazzle, yeah I understand that, it just seems like the same concept, the whole custom shizzle . I was just curious what made a woodworks board more expensive. Does that make sense?

wtf is up with wood? coming from a highly wakeboarded background i have always rode compression skates like the old byerlys, 2.0, legacy etc. and not having wakeskate buddies i didn't get to try wood ones. the few i did ride i didn't like. i mean do they really freakin warp after a sesh if it goes in your car _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. McLOVIN, yes, re read the last 3 words in my post and apply it to any other company, different materials have different costs. These companies are not the same anything. To me the woodworks are way more responsive and have the right rocker for the right size board and they feel more like a skateboard. _________________

I agree with EJazzle, the Woodworks is much more of a skateboard feel, whereas the New is a little wider. Personally, I like New (39.5) better simply because I like to move my feet around and Woodworks, my feet are pretty much off the edge on the 38.75. However, I feel like I get more pop out of the Woodworks. It's really all preference. I know plenty of people who love their Woodworks over their New. Just try to ride both before a decision. _________________ F-L-O-R-I-D-A

If you want a wider board, Woodworks will make it wider for you, my Woodworks has the same measurements as my News. So Brett that statement is pretty much negated.
