i wear open heeled 1 mil socks all winter and they are just fine. i dont think you need to constrict yourself that much, especially if you are in orlando.

These are amazing! Life savers, I wouldn't ride in cold water if I didn't have these. That's just me and I HATE being cold...

mergeleft3, I use those 3mm heat sock and I would like something more, but I'm in Oregon and it's already in the mid 40's here. The 3mm are still very thin.

I have had a pair of these thin ones from Cabela's for years, and they have held up great. I use these thin ones inside my shoes when its cold, and I use a hard soles surf boot when its really cold.
