Hopefully this won't cause too much of an issue but how does everyone feel about wakeskate (and for that matter skateboard) photography (not sequences, just a single shot, one moment in time)?
1. Only photos where the rider stuck the trick counts: Plain and simple.
2. If the rider has stuck the trick during that shoot but not specifically for that photo, that's ok.
3. F- it! A cool photo is a cool photo!
Where do you draw the line since it's so hard to capture that perfect moment when you only might have one shot?
To me a photo doesn't count unless the rider stuck it right after it was taken.

| i would say a good photo is a good photo. but i guess it depends on how you look at it. from a rider's standpoint i can see where sticking it would count, but from a photography standpoint i don't see that really being an issue. |

| i agree with you gnarshredd the photo only counts if the rider landed the trick. I could go out start trying to huck wake to wake bigflips and get a pic of it even though I was no where even close to landing it. |

it only counts if the rider sticks the trick. doesn't matter if he/she did already. if they didn't land it show the fall. however, if you get a cool photo just write (not landed) _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. So if u get an epic pic and he falls then comes back sticks it but the 2nd pic is no where as good as the first just trash the good pic and use junk.... Might as well say no photshop or editing pics _________________ Dont Do it |

A sick picture freezes a moment in time, that moment happened regardless of the outcome. So I definitely appreciate all photographic art, not just the stuck ones. _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

taku, I think you just changed my mind on my own topic, haha.
A photo can be art whether or not the trick was stuck or not (if someone wen tout and took pictuers of only falls they could probably come up with some impressive stuff too). But i guess I'm really asking what would you consider to be ok for like a cover shot for example?
I'd say they still have to land the trick, even if it wasn't that specific attempt that was photographed, and it should be noted.

If it's stuck, that's a bonus IMO _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

I agree with the idea that if they land it, its a bonus. If someone goes out and lands 100 kickflips in a row and the pictures are so-so, then they fall on the next one and the photographer gets a sick shot... then post away, I want to see the good shots. The photographer should be satisfied (the rider is another story and a personal preference). |

| as long as its landed in the session its ok imo. but usually the picture is going to turn out better if the rider lands it because he/she will be in better form and position |

3. F- it! A cool photo is a cool photo! | If you're submitting to a magazine, the answer is somewhere between your #1 and #2. It all depends on which photo editor you ask.
Then there's what taku said, which I FULLY agree with. Unfortunately, the magazines still in existence are more interested in riding that has been landed, not in photography that feels good or super cool shots of your friend that nobody has ever heard of that almost landed this one new trick. Fortunately, there are MANY good places for the photos that mags don't really want, and this is one of them... _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

A cool pic is a cool pic! some crashes make cool pics... If it's going into print like a mag or ad, it should be landed in that set. Hopefully when the pic was taken. If it's not in print, then who cares! as long as the person who took the photo and who is in the photo should it truely matter too! It's there art to share not yours!
