Who has taken a skate as a carry on?? Do they allow you to, free of charge?? What about SouthWest? What did you put it in, besides a wakeskate bag??

Did you look at your airline's specifications for carry-ons? I think a wakeskate might be too big to be a carry-on. The only board I've personally seen as a carry-on was a skateboard, and that was attached to a backpack.

i'm pretty sure you can't. i tried with allegiant air, and they have a container you put your bag in to see if it fits, and it can't be any bigger than like 12" by 24" by 10" or something.

Just buy a wakeskate bag for your deck and check it with your luggage... If they give you a hard time about it just make sure you tell them its a boogie board. Those are allowed free on all airlines.

I actually brought 5 decks in one bag and didn't get a hard time from Southwest.

Whatever you do make sure you DO NOT tell them it's a wakeskate! They consider skates the same as a wakeboard and they will charge you a fee for it.

I've used the boogie board line for years and it works like a charm every time.

I always check my wakeskate and the only fee I've ever paid is the extra baggage fee...like 15 dollars or whatever it is. Northwest allows you one free piece of luggage that's 50 lbs or less, and then each additional bag costs $15, then $25-ish and it goes up from there.

i think on some, you might be able to take it on as a carry on the same way you would a childs stroller. Like they store it up front and you get it when you get off the plane, not under or above your seat. or something along those lines..

If you're allowed one free checked bag, attach the skate to it somehow. Duct tape works wonders. Very Happy

ive heard this before from someone else as well. they said wakeskate and got charged. so me and my friend went to visit another friend in florida and took both ours in my cassette bag and we did not use the word "wakeskate" i think we said water board or skim board or something and they sent it to cargo for free. and yes they are too big for carry on.

just check it in

in my younger days i brought a skim board on the plane, they found a spot up front to put it. i do like the boogie board idea though.

I flew Allegiant air, check in my deck, no bag. They put a sticker on it and I picked it up like any luggage.
