so my friends and i are working on a new winch (after much dissatisfaction from the one we built last summer) and one thing i really am looking to improve is the throttle. I want to stay clear of the stock little tab that most motors come with. Im looking to go in the direction of a leaver maybe.

So from your experience, what works the best?

We used a bit of threaded rod, stuck into a golf ball, drilled a little hole in the throttle and the threaded rod. Then used a cotter pin to hold it.

I'll get a pic at some point, but it works a treat.
