What happened to when wakeskates were 200 bucks for an expensive one? I just looked online and saw an SST for 400 bucks. This makes me sad.

Well, duh. You're comparing a simple concave to a bi-level, so of course there's gonna be a price difference. But you do have a point, because Cassette's Bi-level was $300 when it first came out I believe. I don't think a $200 concave is a thing of the past, though.

i thought the cassette bi prices were pretty steep when they came out. but like anything as the price goes up your forget where your bar is set. now i guess $300 for anything new to ride is a steal?

Part of the pricing does have to do with technology...that's always been the game, and you can look at cassette with their 3-d wakeskates selling for 200.00 and then the 4-trac selling for 250.00 its first year out. but it is weird and sad to me that wakeskates cost as much as wakeboards.

I don't know if it's just the economy when it's the high end wakeskates that keep going up in price, even if there aren't any technological advancements from the prior year to the next. Nowadays a new cassette Bi-level wakeskate would be cheap at 300.00. But it's interesting to me that pretty much every company that has a bi-level has priced it within range of each other.

Anyway, there are other options. Of course integrity has their new line of boards coming out and the concaves look to be priced on par with many of the other wood concaves that are out, but sattelyte also has a really nice line-up of wakeskates this year that cover nearly every rider's price range and ability level. (so to speak--how hard are you going to be on your wakeskate?)

i think LF and Hype/Byerly a selling these decks at 400 becuase they see kids paying that much for integrity decks. the thing is though, integrity actually uses high end materials that make it so you get what you pay for.

but besides that prices have stayed the same.
Flat ~$100
Concave ~$200-250
Wood Bilevel ~$300

I don't get your joke, but my point was supposed to be that a beginning wakeskater isn't necessarily going to be as hard on their wakeskate as a rider who's hitting rails or just knows what they like and rides a ton.

I think the wood bi-level pricing depends as well. Verge has theirs priced at 300.00 and it looks like a sick wakeskate. But I'm pretty sure the all wood bi-level from gator was pretty expensive (more than 300.00).

the LF mod is 300...and didnt everyone have problems with the 08 stuff? i havent heard anything good about LF except the SST so i would be sceptical paying 300 for a concave thats gonna delam. just my opinion...if im dropping 300 on a skate it better be worth the money

gotta remember, delaming on the LF skates were wood. The Mod is composite. It'll scrape away just like the Hyperlite/Byerly composites...
