|
|
Here's an Integrity press release we just received, and it contains what I think is some exciting news for wakeskating. Most of us have known integrity as a high end wakeskate brand. Now they are coming up with new ways to create a more affordable, yet high quality wakeskate.
I think this is a really good thing because now more people have the opportunity to get a really sick wakeskate, even if they don't have 400.00 to spend on the new integrity they want to buy. Plus this new line is just keeping wakeskating accessible and it's keeping board design progressive...I think affordability has always been attractive in the eyes of a wakeskater. So now there's going to be something for every ability level and every price range. Both new skates mentioned--a 9 ply concave and a 5 ply flat have pbt tops and bottoms and urethane sidewalls, among other features.
Enough with my spiel. Here's a link to everything you need to know about the "Rider Stimulus Plan": http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=737

| Hmmm, an integ that feels like a wooden skate? Why is this not mention on the official integrity website?

| This is awesome!! My only problem with integs is that they are to light for me, but this is exactly what I'm looking for. These things are going to fly off the racks, better be on point when it comes to ordering one otherwise you will definitely be SOL

i got to ride the 38 mutiny proto thursday and it's awesome. even being at a size i don't like i had alot of fun on the board. the weight is awesome and the feel of the birch is super nice. my only question is, "will it be more buoyant? as of now you have to hold it until the rope gets tight, but im still getting a lemons mutiny when they come out.

duffmangt, wait until some pics and specs are posted, and see if it's something you like. Both brands you've listed make solid gear and they're going to have different features. I'm looking forward to checking out the 9 ply, just to see how the design is achieved and things like that. In my mind, when I hear 9 ply I automatically think "flat deck."
redsix, this is all brand new information. It's all legit if that's what you might be concerned about.

RUSSIAN, the older ones were too light (obviously this is my personal weight preference as there is no set benchmark). havent had the cash or opportunity to ride the newer heavier ones.

if memory serves me correctly, the team deck's weigh in at 10lbs and the bamboo have about 1lb more weight.

integrities aren't HEAVY boards, but i wouldn't say that they're "too light" anymore. maybe it's because they don't put on weight as they get older like wood boards?

I'm working it it currently to get it all updated. Also we are gearing up to launch our new improved website in 3 -4 weeks here.

it's the same as the pro models now... but the pro decks are getting a mid season overhaul, nick is coming into town here beginning of May and we will be redesigning the concave and retooling new molds.

What you rode was a proto that was thin and profiled... the 9plys are just that 9 plys, but our concave is cut into high density foam to shape the contours. The one you rode had no foam in it to increase buoyancy... Birch is a real dense wood the "Simplex" is still not going to be as buoyant as the the pro models or teams, but it will be more than the proto you rode. This is what makes it a completely different ride.
Here is the graphic for the simplex and a low res photo of the DaDa::::

basically it is a flat 9 ply birch skate, but the concave is machined out of foam so the weight is balanced on the sides where extra wood would be built up. then the birch is completely sealed with 22oz glass top and bottom and pbt top and bottom... fin holes are drilled thru urethane so no water can delam or warp the wood. for the price and the materials used nothing can compete with this deck... the only reason why we can do it now is because we now are able to buy bulk materials from suppliers and have built up credit and have 90 day terms so we don't have to leverage preorder money to make skates now.
