I don't know, brandon thomas cuts the kicktails down on his gate, but working with something crucial like the rails might be a different story. I dont' think it would be impossible...but I'd be nervous about trying it. And I can't remember if the old wakeboards that were used for wakeskates were narrowed down at all or what....
EDIT: Ok, I'm back. I actually think this would be possible. I have an old article about slalom wakeboarding and their equipment, and how they would take the old HO hyperlites and cut them in half, remove some of the "width" and then piece it back together so they'd have a narrower shred stick. So of they can do a major project like that with compression molded foam and make it work, I think you might be able to work around the rail issue. The main thing (I think--remember, this is my opinion) would be to keep a nice consistent arc shape to the rail (the "sidecut" as wakeboarders like to call it), and to seal it up when you're done so the foam doesn't take on any water. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow, is right, but what you would have to do is cut off more than you want then fill the "hole" or "gash" left ( because you will probably be into the foam core by the time you round them off enough) with polyester resin then sand the resin to the dimensions you want, thats pretty much what brandon did to his kicktails. _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

| couldn't you just take sandpaper and grind down the rails, with either hand or a sander? |
