LFdisciple, my family used to have a 24 foot pontoon. Would have been great to skate behind but it only had a 50 horse so it didn't get to the proper speed. So just make sure the top speed is good for you.

Yeah...my friend's parents have one with a 150 on the back...it still turns around kinda slow, but it's not bad. Kinda fun to go behind though.

thanks for the responses.

im dead set on getting one as a party barge anyway, so being able to shred behind one is a big plus

had a 28 foot poontang with a 115 on it. when i first started skating that's all we had, it worked and was still just as fun to shred behind. just make sure you have a large enough motor to actually skate behind it.

I used to have one, we sank it though... not much along the lines of a tangible wake but as long as it's got enough HP to pull good it's really fun for flats and having people on the boat.

Someone on the old wakeboarder.com forums installed a ballast system on their pontoon boat. They did this by pouring cement into the pontoons. It sunk. Laughing

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY haha.

seriously, a stripper pole was sort of the deciding factor on whether or not i should go the pontoon route.
