finally finished it, been having some minor kinks but getting it figured all out.

The spool is always a beach to get right, but just means you'll have a dope system down for the next winch you build Very Happy

was definitely a great learning experience for me too, about winch building and myself. i think the spool was the hardest part fasho, so much thought goes into it especially designing something like that with no experience and no idea of the forces present. Smash

Soulprogression, it is going to be my own little winch park, the spot is perfect as long as the water doesn't go down to much more.

man ive been loafting on getting mine welded but youve inspired me lol my boat broke down last summer so i haven rode since last early july Crying or Very sad im gonna go and build today lol

two people carry it NO problem. i would say maybe 75lb at the most.

i will try and get a more accurate answer.

daniel, I was planning on doing something similar for my 2nd winch project what kind of wood did you use on the sides ? Is it just marine plywood ?

no it is 23/32 plywood that has been primered and painted several coats.

the water just sits on it rather than soaks in, hope it will hold up awhile.
