I want to build a composite winch frame so it would be lighter and more water proof. What do you guys think about making a frame out of Trex or another composite decking material ? Would it be strong enough ? Would I be wasting my time ? Am I wasting your time ? Am I making any sense ? But seriously what do you think ? _________________ Go Balls Deep Or Go Home |

When you said composite all I could think of was carbon fiber...I think carbon fiber would make a dope winch frame. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

True but you could use the same idea but use fiberglass cloth. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com

Montgomery, it would be light. I don't know how sturdy it would be as you need to hold the motor, spool, and rope but seems like it would be nice. _________________ http://trihawk.fotki.com
