Throw your underwater housing in the garbage
I think this would be sick for wakeskating/snowboarding! Pretty reasonable price, too.
I don't know a whole lot about cameras/camcorders, so any thoughts anyone?? _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

I'd be interested to seeing how the footage looked, shoots 720p.. doesn't sound bad for the money. |

I own one but haven't really had a chance to use it yet.. I messed around with it and shot some underwater footage just to see what it looked like. Hopefully I'll get some wakeskating tube shots in the next couple weeks _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

So I finally got a couple sets of footage with this camera. For $400, I think it's well worth the money.. It's definitely nice not worrying about it getting spayed by the rider.

I'm pretty clueless about hard drive camcorders.. I didn't realize they transfer in mp4 format to your comp. Since I don't have an editing program that will input mp4 files, I had to edit and save the clips in wmv. So does anyone know what (fairly easy to use) programs work well with mp4 files, and would an mp4 file be better quality then a wmv file?? _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

Brett Leadley, dude i sorta want this camera. is there anyway to thread a fisheye onto the lens? or is there a screw hole for a tripod in the bottom?
also, you could try downloading a video converter to get your files the the right type
i like to use a program called "magic video converter" that i somehow downloaded for free _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com

Brett Leadley, I use Sony Vegas, and it works beautifully with mp4's. I magically downloaded it fo free off TPB. _________________ You can't get hurt in the air.

Thanks holmes they sent a blue one. This cam was also used for the whole video on the Blast site. I love how I'm able to just chill in the water for some close ups and not worry about it getting splashed.
Before I owned this I always used mini dv and let me tell you, the hard drive is 1000000x better. 100000000x easier to transfer the files, they get broken down into clips so forget about all that fast forwarding you used to do Also, I have a 16gig card which I never came close to filling even after a long day of riding.. it comes with two batteries and again, one battery lasts all day without all the moving mechanisms inside dv camcomders
GnarlyDancer42, sorry I hadn't checked this thread in awhile, there is a tripod insert on the bottom, and I don't know about the lens, I'm not sure how a fish eye is supposed to attach- _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

i bought this cam and its waterproof feature is awsome. Safe to film in rain, snow, and great for the boat.
You have to have a hell of a steady hand for zoomed boat recording though. I'll try to post some footage next week.
I also picked up a pretty sweet helmet cam when I was at Sams Club. Its pretty bad quality but has a waterproof housing and is small and cheap
http://www.epicstealthcam.com/ The website says $150 for the one I got but I paid $90 at Sams. |

anyone know if this would be straight for surfing too? cuz im hoping to take it out during a good swell but the only thing im worried about is the 10ft limit. waves would cause a change in pressure around the camera and cause leaks right? _________________ Bangers! |
