Hey, i picked up a honda 5.5hp off a buddy of mine for a case of beer, i couldnt turn it down. It runs amazing, but i am not sure it will have the power i want, i was using a 6hp tecumseh but the motor sucked, anyway i have all the clutch setup and my sprockets are 10t to 72t. What i am really interested in is if anyone knows if those hop up kits will help?
i found this website:
http://www.nr-racing.com/hopupkits.htm
It says for the stage one kit, i can go from 5.5 hp to 7.5hp?
Let me know what ya guys think.
thanks |

I have a 5.5 on my winch with a cent. clutch and it works fine. I am 185 and can not deep start with it but a 165 can. It works great for the kind of winching I do. I hope this helps _________________ Obscura Wakeskates! |

it came on my engine when i got it from bullet a couple years ago so i can't judge any gains, but it can deep water start someone up to about 210lbs, has a huge amount of torque and top end.
mine set up is 6" inner diameter, 58t & tav, #35 chain, 900' rope. i'd say it's a nice upgrade esp. on a 5.5hp _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. I said take me to the sea and let my mother bury me." Buck-0-Nine |
