This is just a 12 Ft. Section. I'm building the other 12 Ft. section tomorrow and connecting them.
The top is 3/4" x 10" x 12' Trex.
What do you guys think?

Looks awesome, looks like you could drive a truck over it and nothing would happen
I like your idea for the bottom, how do you secure it, with sandbags or rocks or something? Pounding 4x4's into the ground sucks sometimes unless your dealing with alot of mud _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, dude, last time i built a flartail i pounded 4x4s in the ground i split all of them, and it was hard as crap because i built it while it was in the water. But like all my other stuff, i'm probably gonna secure it with 5 gallon buckets filled with concrete. |

Yeah 4x4's can split so easily unless the bottom is really muddy, for my new box I used 1" gas pipe (6' long) with the 1" flanges.. it's amazing because it is more study then the one that's out on the river which is secured with 4x4's
I'm really digging your design! Using 5 gal buckets really eliminates alot of headaches when it comes to anchoring _________________ ------------------------------------------------------

Dang dude, i gotta try the pipes with flanges next.
But thanks bro, i'm not really much for thinking about complicated geometric designs that anchor the rail down perfectly. I'm just lazy, so 5 gal. buckets seem like they'd be sufficient.
Almost done. Ran out of wood at the last minute..

You should have cut your 2x4's at an angle so they mount flush to the base of your rail and legs. _________________

Well i used 4" deck screws, so it's pretty stout as it is. And i was gonna angle them, but i realized it would be a ton of work with just a skill saw. |

plywood with Eucaboard on top. Idt it'll hold up for long though, so i'm probably gonna get some high density polyeurethane sheets for it. |

The stuff i put on the incline probably won;t hold up worth crap, because it's basically compressed cardboard. It;s called eucaboard. But i'll probably end up using some sort of eurethane sheets on top for the incline, and the top of the flatrail is trex.

POPTART, the incline is done.
john gave me a big 4x8 sheet of plastic and it fit perfectly. all i need now is like 5 dudes to help me put it in the water. the thing weighs like 300 pounds. |
