erikmonty, i wouldnt put black on a boat, its gunna be harder to maintain, use a light color so it reflex the sun instead of absorbs it. If you use black it will be MAD hot.

fiberglass 21 ft...cabin in the front...150 hp outboard 2 stroke...im really stoaked on it...what u think i should do? is it easy to replace carpet in boats? im thinking bomb ass stereo and a pylon as well as the pain issue

yeah thats what im looking for but i need something thats durable cause the paint on my old boat kept chipping and stuff so

erikmonty, first things first. your prep work is the most important issue; i.e sanding, filler, an so on. I used a cheap primer, just go into a sherwin williams and ask for a cheap primer. As far as paint goes I suggest Emron, it sprays on nice and will last a long time. You would prolly need about 4 gallons. I also suggest that you apply a minimum of one coat of clear. However the boat in the lil boat thread, I did not clear just buffed it out lightly. If you take the rub rail off, do it carefully and re use if it isn't bad. they cost @ 500 to buy a new one.

thanks! thats just what i needed to hear....ya the rails fine for now i guess if it gets too bad i could replace it later...ill keep u all posted and any ideas for paint color/design would be greatly appreciated Birthday
