Im going to buy a new wakeskate at the end of the summer and i need some help on what to buy. Im looking at the O'Brien INTOX, the Gator Boards DOYLE, the Hyperlite CATALYST, the Liquid Force SIGNAL and maybe the Devotid ONWARD. I really like the DOYLE because it rides like a bi-level but the INTOX looks like a pretty good board. Are bi-levels good boards too? I want a board with good pop and that will last for some summers. So can you help me out. I dont want to end up putting money on a bad wakeskate. thxs. Also put in any other good boards

Terry, if your planning on buying a board to use for several years I would look at an integrity as well, but composites should last for awhile

If you want a board that will last a while then wood might not be your best choice, although they have gotten better throughout the years with sealants they will eventually get waterlogged. Oaks are pretty durable though, there's some video of a guy running over one with his truck. I haven't ridden an intox or a signal, but I can tell you that if you are going to but one of those boards the catalyst 2.0 wasn't bad and you can find them for cheap on ebay. What I will tell you though is that it's not a bad idea to look into some of the smaller wakeskating companies out there like oak, integrity, arson, and devotid, etc. From what I've seen over the last two years these companies seem to release less gimmicks and more viable products, plus your supporting a wakeskater owned/operated company that didn't stem off from selling waterskis Very Happy .

Alot of members on this site will probably recommend you buy an integrity but if you are new to the sport you may not want to spend that much cash, but if you do want to they're worth the cash and the wait.

Terry, if you are going to spend that much money on a wakeskate then you should get an integrity. way more durable. also they have been proven and ride great. the bamboo core boards are the most responsive decks i have ever ridden. they snap up so quick.

keep in mind that all those boards you listed have very different concave styles that you might love or hate.

Sound to me like you want a thicker bi level type board right? An Integrity is not that. It also sound like you want foam grip too? The Intox was designed by Derrick Seaman (GREAT GUY BTW) so I would trust it is a great skate. And the Signal a Bryan Dawley creation (same guy who helped Thomas on the first Bi level) I would also put $$ on that this board sheds! I am not a fan of the Cat and never ridden the Doyle but Ryan seems to like it. I would say a coin flip between the Intox and Signal and which it lands on bring it home!

out of those go for the devotid, but like the emo kid above me said it might not last too long depending how you ride it, id say go for an integ or an oak
