I have a 6hp with a tav2 and a 62t up front. full throttle is super fast. i want to up the front sprocket to maybe like a 65t or 66t to slow top end down just a hair. any one else familiar with how drastic upping the sprocket size a few teeth can be on the top speed??

on my grinch i had something like a 62 and hopped up to 72, which was barely fast enough to plane. i'm thinking inbetween there might be the sweet spot...

Just divide the number of teeth you would be adding by the number of teeth you have now.

So if you have 62 and want to go to 65
3 divided by 62
then you have the percent of decrease in speed
3 teeth is not going to make a huge difference

I got a 68t off e-bay real cheap so I will see if that cuts top end a hair. I am just hoping for a small decrease in speed...
