Ok so I have a 2008 41" Armada, but i don't really like the feel of the foam grip. I want to put griptape on instead, but i'm not sure if it's a good decision?

there is tons of people on here that know how to switch foam with graptape idk how but trust me it a very good idea; when i got my first wakeskate it was foam and after that bought a board with griptape; it makes a huge difference and landing tricks and positioning ur feet on the board; just ask around how to do it

if you've never ridden a board with grip tape then i would recomend riding one before you try to take the foam off your board. you will most probably like it better but i wouldnt do it till you've tried both. GRIP FTW! Smash

DjTOlly, oh well then go for it! im not exactly sure of the proccess or what works best but i would figure you heat it up with a hair dryer/ heat gun to get the glue hot so it comes off easy and then scrape off any pieces that are left on with a window scraper or maybe just sand then down to nothing. let us know!!

I griped a karma I had a few years ago and found the best way to take it off is peel up a corner and start pulling! Get as much of the foam off as you can and once all the plastic is off (between the adhesive and foam is a plastic like film) take some 3M adhesive remover and go to work on the glue left. once all the glue is off let it sit for about 15 min so the remover is totally gone, Then grip! You will need about 2 1/2 sheets of grip.

I wouldn't sand it because it can make the top weaker if you get carried away.

Expect it to take about an hour.

DjTOlly, nice grip job!

i prefered the shawk foam grip that mine came with over the shawk grip stuff. it had the same grip/feeling but just didnt give you grip burn
