Simple Winch
Here's our creation. The design should look familiar with a few tweaks. We have taken a few pulls on it with a 100ft rope that we had laying around, but the 600ft rope shows up next week. It pulled strong and didn’t have any structural problems...the chain stretched a bit being brand new, but we'll solve that soon. We have a TAV2 on order even though the clutch seemed to do the job...seems like thats what everyone is using.
The front was welded internally to provide strength and grinded smooth so the front pieces will look continuous when painted...looks sick!
We are prepared for production if there is interest in either the whole thing or we might possibly sell it ala cart (frame, spools, and engine/misc parts separate) Spool has 6" and 8" ID optional holes. The spool right now is keyed into the axle, but a releasing spool is in the works. I think its going to hold a ton of rope.
We haven’t figured out pricing yet. We can start cranking out spools and frames next week if neccessary. (I haven't looked into shipping yet).
Please PM me if you're interested.
I have not weighed it yet. I would guess around 100lbs + or - Its fairly easy for one person to haul around and two people can throw it in the back of a truck no prob.
Here it is raw and un-painted. We're going to paint it once we put the final touches on it. I'll toss up more pics at that point..prob in another week or 2.

| looks good but also top heavy. whats to keep it from flipping over under extreme load. if those little bottom legs were longer and at less of an angle it seem like it would support it from flipping over. imo, fabrication and everything else looks SICK. powder coat that baby so it stays looking good.

Thanks guys.
Some simple tie downs to a tree/pole/hitch on the rear anchor bolts prevent it from goin anywhere.
We used it on a steep slope going into the lake without any issues at all.

Rode it last night with the new Amsteel rope on it...that stuffs the shizzle fo sure! Its freakin long too. 600ft is farther than I thought. Good times! It was at dusk, so I didnt snap any shots cause it was too dark, but hope to get some this weekend.
We fabricated a sweet chain tensioner too that I think you'll dig. Stay tuned...

Shoot me a PM and we can work something out.
We're just about ready to paint in now. We've ridden it a handfull of times now...its a blast. The clutch is holding up until the TAV arrives. I'm about 6'2" and wiegh roughly 190lbs. The clutch deep starts me, but takes a little while. I can tell it struggles...TAV should solve that. My buddy is about 150lbs and it pops him up no problems.
Here's the chain tensioner that we fabricated...a nice durable adjustable complement from the skate world.
