I get so close I toetapped two of them today I don't always get the shuv around any tips _________________

Its all in the Front foot. It really initiates both the "shuv" and the kickflip. |

actually its all in the backfoot... put the ball of your back foot on the toe edge of your tail... just behind where it starts to curve up and in... its all in the scoop with your back foot... you really have to lean back too to make it come back around too you... just scoop the hell out of it... your front foot will work naturally... you front foot placement helps control how high you pop it... more on the board and it will catch more of the nose... therefore going a little higher... you will have to compensate for it tho with a harder pop/scoop...
the main problem i had was not leaning back... so im going to emphasize that...
