NeverRide (manufacturer of the "Hive") unveiled the worlds first "Real" snow winch today. Here is the email I received from Patrick at NeverRide
For our fifth company anniversary we proudly present our new towing device for winter sports, the first "REAL" snow winch on the market:
The Avalanche
We from NeverRide are specialized in developing towing devices for a special kind of use.
Winches are already established for wakeskating and wakeboarding, and now we move a step further with snowboarding and free skiing.
We not only copy one of our wake winches and paint it in another color. The most significant difference is that we build every product new from scratch.
These are the reasons we can guarantee the highest quality towing devices a viable on the market for sporting use.
The Avalanche, the first real snow winch on the market.
Specially designed for winter use in cold temperatures. Powered with a Briggs&Stratton snow engine.
Up to 45 mph (70 km/h) max speed possible! Variation between 3 different end speeds, easy to us with speed throttle.
Hydraulic racing brake components for maximum braking power.
Spool can hold up to 2'000 feet (600m) of line.
Small sized and only 155 lbs (70kg) weight.
Carrying around with transport wheels and extensible handle bars.
NeverRide, the winch building company, presents another milestone in developing of towing devices.
Many companies are manufacturing winches, but we know how to...
Ever ride with NeverRide!

Thats pretty bad ass. 45 mph. I can think of a couple occasions where I could use the extra speed when getting towed into things while on the snow.
But, I agree with their decision on the briggs. They always start on the first pull. Even in the rocky mtns on cold nights. _________________ Aaron |
