| Awful. I read all about them on here before I built my first winch and from what I gathered from other members it is a total crap shoot with these motors. I figured I'd take my chances and within a couple of months it crapped out. So I would really try to steer clear of these. Many other members will agree with me. |

eviltweak, dont get your info from people who havnt used them
you need to be more specific what motor you are talking about.... harbor freight sells good and bad motors.... i bought a suburu 7 horse from them for 200 bucks on sale and still have it to this day.... its been thru countless missions including the corrosion of beach winching and still pulls like a dream.... suburu is where its at
harbor freight also sells honda knock offs which arent as great... i have blown 3 heads on 3 separate honda knock offs but harbor freight has always refunded me once i did this... so it wasn't that big of a loss.... i have found that honda knock offs are hit or miss.... like i said i have gone thru 3 of them but the 4th one i got (from refunded money cause harbor freight was cool enough to take back all busted motors with a receipt of course) has lasted me for about a year now....
if you get a shiznackle motor regardless from who sells it .... you can be pretty sure it wont last.... honda's , suburus, and briggs and stratton engines tend to last much longer but are more expensive.... knock offs are cheap but like i said they are hit or miss.... _________________ PAVT since '05/'06 |

I have been running a harbor freight honda knock off for a year. It runs like a champ and I have never had any problems with it. I have a friend that bought one to and he has had fantastic results too. _________________
