pretend you're taking a dump in the woods... stay that bent and squatted over the board. One of my guy friends always repeats the same mistakes.. he straightens his legs and trys to stand way before he's out of the water. He also fights the boat and tries to pull himself up. You need to lean back and let the boat pull you out.

Remain perfectly perpendicular to the boat until you're out of the water (at least while you're learning do this.. afterwards you can do whatever you want). Do not try to stand up until your body is 100% out of the water (same).

I think key for first timers is legs spread to each end of the board, toes slightly pointed outward for stability. Once you can figure out how to stay on the board idling behind the boat, you're halfway there. To do that, keep your feet perfectly level/flat until the boat begins to idle... about 1 second before the rope slack is gone and the boat starts to idle with you.. angle your toes upwards slightly, so the front of the board comes up and the water pushes the board to the bottom of your feet. You'll catch on, just don't get stressed out if it takes longer than you hoped. Some people are quick to get up and others aren't. But once you figure it out, it's like riding a bike Smile
