Has anyone ripped off the foam on their hype skates and put on grip tape? How did you do it, and whats the skate like after the switch.

I did it on my scape and loved it!

just tear the foam off with your hand or some sharp knife to get a hold of it on a side.

Once the foam is off just sand it a little to make sure the top surface is clean and then grip it like you would grip a skateboard.

It worked out really nice. But the problem you'll have with the scape is that after some time it will "twist" :/

I think it's pretty safe to do it on a concave hype too.

Why wouldn't it work out? Razz

can't see why it wouldn't work, but after you take the foam off instead of sanding, just clean it off with a little solvent

3 sheets of skateboard grip most likely. 2 sheets if they have it on a roll and can cut it to the length you need - say 116 cm (whats that about 44''?)or whatever.
