I don't know brooke but I think she should be able to write whatever she wants, regardless of whether I agree or disagree, same for this site and the members of it (within limitations agreed upon when getting your membership of course). The emotion the article(s) will invoke is on the writer though, and it seems to me if you're trying to market to a specific demographic, insulting them or ticking them off doesn't work out so well in the end.

this is all im going to say on this topic. Brooke wrote a entry on her blog website. She didnt do it as an attack on wakeskating. Brooke pays her bills as a freelance photographer and journalist. She has been reporting snowboarding since 1997 on her website yobeat. Alliance approached her about heading the wakeskate part of the magazine a long time ago as well. She does alot of work keeping the site fresh and bring new content. She is a editor she is not a wakeskater. She doesnt get payed to wakeskate. She also does freelance work for different action sport magazines and websites.

For anyone to say anything different you have no idea what your talking about. It cost money to buy equipment,travel,manage. Wakeskating isnt about money to people who go out with their friends wakeskating but to people who travel following the contest scene and try to bring wakeskate content to our small scene money matters. no one is getting rich off filming or being a photographer. People are making a living. And thats it making a living.

This is a fvcking message board. "We get it first." HA! I understand that blog wasn't directed entirely to this website, but come on. Are you really going to get mad that someone posted their 'from the boat handycam' video on the message board instead of AWS? I agree, it is a step up from "How to Jump on a Trampoline" or "How to Get Sponsored" columns.. but are you serious? This sport is so small, I can count on one hand the people that actually make a decent living off wakeskating. People don't post on here to get famous and put their name in the lights. If anything, they do it for the exact OPPOSITE reasons. They post them here because they do it for fun. They get positive feedback, not anonymous shizzle talking.

Alliance is 85% Garbage. 15% Good Photography and Solid Riding. The videos are far from Professional and/or "Online Mag" quality. Any of the AWS contributors could post the same content on WS.com and get just as much recognition.

Do like Brooke said, give your content to people you want to support. Don't do it to pay her bills, pay your own bills, that's life.

Putting your video on AWS isn't going to make me like your video any more than I would if it was on Vimeo. But obviously Brooke needs it to pay for her Florida plane ticket and DC needs more custom T-shirts.
