im not sure that you understand the meaning of the word original... |
When I live in Sweden and can't speak/write english that good, can't you please give me another personal lesson i english Mr. Che Blanc. That would be very helpful...... When I come to think of it, I was totally wrong before, which company were the first to make wakeskates of wood? (Cassette, yes?!) Which materials are Kampus wakeskates made of? WOOD! Copycats, YES! Oh, sorry, I almost forgot, they have rounded nose/tail on the Swing series, that's a pretty original design, I guess it will boost every wakeskater and the whole industry in years to come.... Sorry, but my PERSONAL oppinion is that I don't consider Kampus a proggressive company (such as Cassette) regarding designs of wakeskates.

He didn't say progressive. He said original. I don't see any other lunch tray looking boards out there. (I love those lunch tray boards ) |

Allright, Kampus IS an ORIGINAL company, they make lunch tray shapes and shapes with rounded nose/tail. They have changed the whole industry with their designs. Probably the best company out there. They have an idea and they make it happen, just as Thomas when he came up with wooden wakeskates, griptape, concave shapes, assymetrical shapes, 4 track fins and now the bi-levels. I think that the Kampus boys deserves a whole lot more credit than Thomas and the Cassette crew for making it happen and changing the way of wakeskating...... Keep up the good work guys, I can't wait to see what the future holds. Maybe lunch tray shapes with nose slide fins?
(My first time on a wakeskate was 1999 (LF Sponge) and thanks to Cassette I quit wakeboarding in 2000 and totally focused on wakeskating, because of the skatefeel of their wakeskates and I have been dedicated to their boards ever since. Thanks Cassette crew! Keep up the good work........) _________________ _____________________________

Well when you see Kampus advertising nose fins for noseslides, you can say something about them. I never saw anything like that. They stick to what has worked for them, and apparently, their designs work. I never said they deserve more credit than Cassette, but you sure as hell shouldn't be bashing those guys. |

no one ever said they invented wakeskating or were completely revolutionizing the sport, we just said that they refuse to copy other companies designs for their own benefit, thus making them and their designs... you guessed it. ORIGINAL! _________________ √ |

I just don't think they (Kampus) deserves as much credit as the Cassette guys who at least have the guts to try to revolutionize wakeskate designs with "crazy" ideas. Maybe the bi-levels doesn't work, who knows?! Many people were laughing at noseslide fins and assymetrical shapes when Cassette released them. "you can't nose-slide on a wakeskate" etc. were the topics then..... I think wakeskating needs many different companies to help it grow but my personal oppinion is that noone has changed the way of wakeskating such as Cassette so give them the cred they deserve..... _________________ _____________________________

EXPLAIN! They refuse to copy designs?!!!! So they came up with their designs all by themselves? Sorry, but some of the Kampus boards looks a little bit like the old Cassette flat decks to me. (except the ORIGINAL Swing and K-series) _________________ _____________________________

Rob, OK, let's grab a beer and cool down.
Are you trying to establish a company ranking list? Like which one deserves the most credit , the most innovative shape, the coolest graphics, the best corporate identity, etc.? If so, that would be useless and contra-productive.
The fact is: yes, we need competition between the wakeskating companies.
But the question is: which company is a legit player and which is not?
And, IMO, Kampus is a legit player, because they aren't lazy copy cats like LF, 484, etc.
It's that simple. Peace.

Rob, manuals aren't why he kills it, have you seen him ride in person he pops his tricks mad status, and kills on rails, I don't really think manuals are that big of a deal. _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

no disrespect to thomas but don't think for a second that he came up with ideas of griptape, concave, a-sym and bi-level. he simply just took these ideas from board designs of other boardsports and applied it to the wakeskate. however the bi-level concept maybe different to bi-level snowskates, i don't know there's not exactly too much info on it out there. we need pics. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com

jerrysk8, thank you for pointing that out.
also if this bi level thing is really the next place to go for wakeskates...other companies are gonnna probably make a bi level also. say if Kampus makes a bi level, will u people start biatching about them copying the design? i think as long as they try to improve the existing board then they are doing good. _________________ JMU |
