I would like to share with everyone my winch...
This is my second so far and I'm probably going to start on the next one here in about a week or so.

I was thinking about adding some type of shifter lever to make it easier for the driver. I'm not too sure on what to use for a lever...maybe rummage some cars at the junk yard.?
I drew a picture of the ideas I was thinking of. Just not sure on how easy it would be to do the idea thats in red...
Any suggestions?

I just cut a golf handle off a golf club an sliped it over the lever an pinched it with vise grips to keep it on. An I love it

just drill a hold between the spool side and axle and put a pin in it, releasable spool Birthday

sandiego4real, that's a ballin idea. I'm gonna look into that.

De Oro, I've yet to have a need for a releasing spool. Walking the handle out is pretty easy.

wakeboarderx03x, they get harder and harder with more use, but the driver can get annoyed pulling the rope for someone swimming

I have the same motor. How do you like yours?
I am yet to complete my winch... still working on the frame. Is the TAV necessary?

I like the engine. It starts first pull every time.
The only thing is, that it takes a couple pulls with the lighter(under 175lbs) guys before it will want to pull the bigger (175lbs+) guys... I guess its just that engine break in period. Go figure.
I've never used a winch with a CC, so all my experience is with the TAV. It works great.

mr. Blonde, Depends on what you consider a higher speed? It pulls me fine. I wouldn't mind taking the governor off though.
It's a 1:6 ratio. 12:72 with 8in. ID on the spool.

Soulprogression, pm sent
