| wont make much off it, i got it for a case of beer, so i cant complain and its really nice. I found a website that does the kits for $100 and its supposed to jump from 5.5hp to 7.5hp. I was just wondering if anyone knew other places i could get them or if someone has one. Thanks |

I was experimenting on my second winch. I bought a 6HP honda knock-off and added a stage-one HP kit. It was a lot of trouble and turned out to be a waste of time. I sold it and bought a 9HP subaru. With that kit, you have to change the timing key and the valve springs. Both can be a nightmare. Then you have to know how to fine tune the valve lash. My engine had an electric starter and when I was finished adding the HP upgrades, the engine had too much compression for the starter to crank it. It was hard as hell to pull. I would have broken pull cords left and right, or my hand from the recoil. If you really know what your doing, it might be worth a shot. But if you plan on experimenting like me... I would save your money! But who knows, I might have made some critical mistakes along the way to give the engine so much compression but I doubt it. My advice: Get a good engine because it's the backbone of your winch. _________________ [all previous posts under MTwakeRaiderz]
