I had heard that originally, they actually wanted some wakeboarding in that commercial, but they saw some wakeskating and were more psyched on that. I'm sure money was definitely a part of it. But a long time ago justin stephens made a post about the whole experience and how they were treated on that shoot...it was probably a pretty incredible experience for a ~23 year old at the time...

The other part is that that commercial aired on MTV for three weeks...Brian was definitely one of the riders who worked his ass off to promote wakeskating. I know some people have a hard time getting over this commercial, but whatever. It certainly didn't ruin wakeskating.

i remeber seeing this on tv and it blew my mind...now that i think about it this might have been the reason for becoming a wakeskater. i think this commercial just kinda got stuck in the back of my head and it came up every time i thought of wakeboarding. i nvr thought that that was grubb bc i remebered the guy doing a kickflip and i can honestly say i dont think ive ever seen him do one....w/e gubb does not kill the stoke he keeps it goin
