if you throw a switch bigspin, but your stance is "fakie" (nose heavy), and you start your rotation from the nose... can you call it a fakie big spin on a wakeskate? i know thats what it is on a skateboard... but fakie doesnt make much sense on a wake skate... _________________ throw yo hood up |

i beg to differ. if u throw itat the same stance as fakie on a skateboard then what do u call it? its not switch cuz its still regular but just throwing it fromt he nose of the board...
in my eyes, yes if u can throw it fakie and make it look good. do work. cuz my boy andrew can and its sick. |

Gnarly Dancer 42, you'd be riding fakie, because your trick is still intiated in the same manner as regular.
i have no idea if or how it works on a wakeskate, i've never tried, it just doesn't seem like you could pop it. |

alot of noobs do it in louisiana... me blake and josh laugh to ourselves every time someone does it, i mean it's super rad that the riders are coming up and that they can actually do it, but that's as far as it'll ever get, it's really ugly in my opinion.
it's not a trick that will ever be taken serious in the sport.
BUT if you had numbs and you were sliding a box and you actually POPPED off the box, threw a fakie big, caught it really high and stuck it... tat would be a different story! _________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2VJfZOomIM |

tad, you aren't riding switch in fakie!!! you may be facing the same way as switch but your tricks are intiated just like regular except from the nose! it is NOT switch.
if someone threw a fakie 360 flip in skateboaring that would not be a switch 360 flip. |

skimboarder, in skateboarding, you can pop the board off the "nose". show me a video of you POPPING your wakeskate fakie or nollie and I will shut up and delete my account from wakeskating.com
This IS NOT skateboarding. |

No official rules or regulations, just scientific fact. (Yes, I am a scientist)
If it isn't popped, it's just a surface switch big. |

Gotta agree with Gnarly Dancer 42
Most of you southern shredders probably dont snowboard, but you can ride fakie on a snowboard and it doesn't mean you are riding on the nose of the board... Yah, on a skateboard a fakie ollie is popped off the nose of the board, but show me one wakeskater that can pop a fakie ollie off the nose of their board. In wakeskating, fakie and switch are interchangeable terms. IMO
And if you still beleive that fakie is ONLY riding over the nose, then that word should never be used while on the water! |

well im no scientist, but i did watch alot of bill nye the science guy... and im at least 98% certain that he never used the words switch or fakie. ill post footage after fay. the pop, little as it may be, looks like it comes after the bodies rotation is initiated, and if you use science, and look at flow patterns and resistance... then yeah a pop is there. and i have no clue what snowboard involves or has anything to do with anything... snow is evil... _________________ throw yo hood up |

tad, where did i EVER say you could pop your wakeskate from the nose? i never did, if you'd actually read the thread instead of being a badass you would see i said i dont' see how you COULD pop it from the nose but i'm sure it can be done on the surface in the fakie position. it's still fakie. Oh but wait, if you stay nose heavy with your foot but some how you miraciously pop it that instantly makes it a fakie trick? you make no sense. i can only compare this next analogy to skateboaring, our closest cousin. i'm skating, i'm riding fakie a do a shuv but i don't pop it, just a little spin around on the wheels, that's just a switch shuv? but if i pop it it's suddenly a fakie shuv? define your logic there.
jake .R., wow, how old are you? |

jake .R., how many tantrums, backrolls, whirlybirds, or s-bends are done on a wake skate? now how many fliptricks or varial tricks are done on a wakeboard? are you sure your allowed to be on a message board at school? skateboarding is the basis for most of wakeskating from tricks to physics... _________________ throw yo hood up |
