So I was researching boards and I saw that gator boards were 19 ply and oak were 16 ply, yet oaks are a bit more expensive. Isn't more plys supposed to mean its more durable?

Durability has more to do with what's holding the plies together, what's sealing the deck, and in some cases what the base of the deck is made of. More plies will only make a board thicker (and even that depends on the ply thickness), thus perhaps making a little bit deeper concave. Oaks and Gators are both pretty durable skates from my experiences though. And at not a bad price.

yeah I figured they'd both be durable, I already had one board delam on me so i wanted to make sure the next board would last longer thank a week Smash so its the stuff holding the plys together and not actually the amount. thanks.
