you need to sublimate the graphic, if you are hoping to apply pre-printed graphics to your board. Sublimation is similar to iron-on's but not the same. You need a super-hot custom shaped press that can "flash" the dye-sub inks. What that means is the inks are vaporized from their solid state (sublimated) and instantly transfered to you skate. They do this with snowboards that are highly custom. Iron on transfers actually carry a film with them that holds the ink. It will easily scratch right off. Good luck, though, I do think you should experiment anyway. _________________ forever shreddin' |

Gnarly Dancer 42, Try ironing on a graphic, then sealing over it. Wouldn't the iron melt paint though? Unless you're doing it onto raw wood. In that case, go all out, brotha
EDIT: Another idea. If you're talking about your 4-trac, see if you can upscale a decent sized mock up of the board's graphic, and talk to Kevin at Devotid or Robin (New) about getting it printed on there. _________________ - Evan Molina |

LFArmada, What if your painting skills are sub-par but you can work up something pretty sweet on the comp? _________________ - Evan Molina |

Heat applied text stays a lot longer than just normal printed text.
It pretty much engrains the text and colours into the material that you put it to (there is a threshold where heat overcomes the transfer of colours and text and becomes crap). However, for an amateur project, i would recommend a screen printing of sorts (they are easy to find) and just applying a clear expoxy over the graphic, it it makes for a lot less headache _________________
