Again i find myself, intrigued in crafting and designing, making miniature wakeskates. With Oury's advice and help i was able to figure out a construction that would make the most realistic replica of a wood concave yet. My original plan was to make a bilevel, but the top deck did NOT work out. My bottom deck, however, was very thick. Three plies consisting of two thick outer layers, and a thin, cross-plied layer in between them. The thick top layer alone was enough to etch in some concave and kicktails, and here's what came out of it:

MattG, Many reasons.. two that come to mind immediately are boredom and fascination. I'm really interested in designing stuff like this, and starting small-scale is definitely the way to go. It's fun and satisfying when i finish a mini-skate and it turns out the way i want it to look. It's like drawing a picture in a sense.. Very Happy

Brett Leadley, Haha i've gripped it, but right now it's graphicless. I might print out something on adhesive paper when i get some ink in my printer Wink

I'm going to make another one tonight. This concave was kind of modeled after an integ.. I don't know what my next one should be. It will be more original, i'm thinking an Omen-style rocker with a little bit of added kicktail and bowl-style concave Wink

Here's my first wood deck i've made. One channel was purposely made smaller than the other. Wink

It's pretty destroyed from concrete rails. It pretty much fails.
