is there a difference between the liquid force control 41 and the hampson 41 shape besides the foam grip?

i can get the control is $30 cheaper than the hampson so i just wanna know if the foam is the only differnce...

if i got the control, i'd take the foam grip off and put griptape on it.

so if you've ridden both boards, did you notice a difference in the way they ollied/performed?

basically, is the hampson's performance worth the extra 30 bucks?

Confused

Wakeness450, Yeah but is it worth 30 bucks to not have to rip off foam, buy grip and put it on? I would pay 30 and get the hampson.

Hampson = asymmetrical

The 41 control and the Hampson are both A-Sym. There is a more noticeable nose on the Hampson. The concave is about the same from when I looked at them. I think they have the same # of plys. The hampson has a tad bit more weight from what I remember and thats about all the difference IMHO

the control is wider throughout with steeper concave at the edges.
the hampson has a narrower tail which helps it get on edge faster and has concave that starts more in the middle. the hampson also has a coating on the base to slide better and protect the bottom graphic. the hampson edges much better in my opinion for w2w because i can use the concave more and the narrower tail sits on edge much faster. the deck still has tons of surface area though.

uidzero, same wood.

Lollar, if you liked the control you will love the hampson 40. it will be much more responsive because you dont need size 11 feet to get your heels and toes on the concave at the same time. but if you cant handle the assymetrical then it might not be for you.

dangit...what the hell? I was told over and over by my LF rep that the Control was symmetrical. It looks symmetrical and I didn't ever notice a difference riding it. I guess I fail. Laughing

wakemitch, Well I already got an Oak to replace it. I didnt want to wait for a new board and Lance being the great guy he is got me my new board in like 2 days. A-Sym didnt bother me at all once I got use to it on my 06' LTD A.Reed.

I wear size 11 Laughing

ok so i'm pretty sure the hampson is what i want, but im not sure if i should try a smaller size skate (the 40 inch), ive always ridden 41's and 42's...

so with size 11 shoes, being 6' tall and the will to learn a lot of flip tricks, do you think trying a 40 would be stupid?
