| For people who have ridden the gate what are some of the pros and cons about it. I am thinking about getting one. |

i rode a hype skate and they feel way to light for me. im guessing that the gate is the same with the weight. i have heard of people putting waterski weights under the foam to make them a little heavier. _________________ P.S.... this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated |

| I have a Gate; it definitely seems to make it a hell of alot easier to do ollies, but other than that, I don't know. |

My pros:
easier to do ollies
easier landings on wake to wake(very forgiving)
in choppy water and rollers i can stay on the board
easier to get up on upon takeoff
can ride w/without shoes eva top feels nice
definately will last longer than a wood board
My cons:
sometimes the kicktails will catch on surface tricks if i dont stand right(blind 180's/360's)
doesnt fit in my wakeboard rack( but my cassette doesnt either )
has a wakeboard feel(may or may not be a con to you)
will try to think of others....
peace

| hyperlite skates are crap. they could take a piece of plastic, spray paint hyperlite on the bottom, and people would buy it. |

| I like Hyperlite skates, I think they have a good feel to them, I also like how they ride. |

JankyZep,

yeah brandon thomas and brian grubb are definately beginners, once they get good they'll definately wanna ride a waterlogged wood lump, composite, and compression molded skates are the future, if you disagree ask erich schmaltz _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

wakeskate_kid3, I have a gate, and I used to own a Cassette, both boards are good rides, but the hyperlite will last longer and as far as the gate I think it has more pop, and allows you to ride more, b/c it handles rough water better. One problem with the gate is if you stack hard it will throw you off the front, that is to say if you land really flat really hard the front kicktail will bite and launch you, my best advise to you is analyze your riding style and see if you think a board that is lighter, has foam grip, and has more tracking will affect your riding in positive or negative way, or better yet try to find a shop with a ride gaurantee, like Trinity so if you don't like it you can exchange it provided that you keep it in good condition _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |
