i currently own 17 ft mako with a 115hp yamaha
its a fun boat, has a good lip and re-entry, inside out could be better.
But i was talking to my dad and he suggested maybe getting rid of the boat for this 02 - 05(dont kno the exact year) kawasaki three seater.
I want to do it because of gas and those hard to get to spots that are always glassy and jet skis are super fun and they are a bit more convienent to take out. But not having the boat means not being able to fish or take a bunch of people someplace to chill or even take a bunch people out to ride.

what do u guys think i should do???

If it's not broke don't fix it.

I would keep the boat, unless getting the ski is more convenient.

if u ride lakes, jets ski's work just as good as boats cause everyone chills on the shore and u dont have to deal with em on the boat, but if ur riding far away from were u launch, boats are more fun for more people, but think what riding is to u, if u wanna have fun, progress, and just keep it chill with friends, keep ur boat, if u wanna ride as much as possible and dont care who ur with as long as u have a driver+1 one than a ski is def the way to go. but becareful cause some ski's can eat gas too. my honda is great on gas but ive heard some people have gas eatin ski's

my ski eats about $25 worth of gas for maybe 4 hrs of solid riding....if ur planning on riding get a ski for sure..its funny how many more friends you have on a sunny day when you have a boat/jet ski

whaaaat i'm getting ripped, my 90's 3seater seadoo xps? holds around 11-12 gallons and we get about 4 hrs out of that; i.e. $50ish. But that's with a lot of different riders constantly with a spotter normally.

I miss that thing.. it's taken apart in the garage at the moment.

NickL, if you have a really good friend that you hang out with everyday and hes got a boat, and you guys can always just take your boat or his and it doesnt ever matter, get the ski. but if you dont have a friend like that keep the boat. its way more versatile. and you can just tell all the mooches to BEAT IT! at high tide/midtide i am sure you can get a 17ft boat alot of places.
