|
|
I have a 1995 Larson runabout with a 325hp Mercruiser inboard/outboard carburated engine with a bad case of the no startsies, it's all i've got besides a party barge, owned by mi madre. Well I'm thinking about slapping an aluminum universal tower on that dirty dingy. What are your thoughts on this plan, I'm still a bit timid about the hull cracking under the pressure. If anyone has any experience with a universal tower your opinion is greatly appreciated, if this is posted somewhere else, don't flame me, i just joined and haven't had much time on the site. _________________ 225 character limit, exceeded...poop face |

you should use the tower money to put towards the boat. get rid of the no starts and enjoy more time on the water. welcome to the site |

Put that cheeze twards gas and the boat, you dont need a tower to shred!!!! Cheeper the ride the better in my opinion, money goes in the Engine or the Gastank. Ride On!! |

i had a Big Air pylons tower on my old I/O and it worked great. a lil shaky in choppy water but never had a problem with it, but when i put my flight control on my older nautique, i could def tell the diff between a stock and universal. but they all work. i would just get a pylon and save some money to get er runnin. |

a while ago when i had an inboard outboard, we build a tower out of galvanized pipe from home depot. the total was under a hundred dollars.we made a tripod design with both legs on the sides of the boat and the other leg towards the rear right behind the engine, with a rope to the front of the boat for support. it worked really well and didn't flex that much at all. just something to consider. |

our hydrodyne has a big air pylon on it and its wonderful. it's solid and quiet oh and it folds down to to fit in a hoist or garage.
I scored ours for about 900 five years ago im sure there cheaper now. _________________ Never, never, never, never give up
