whoa, crazy that you ask (not really).

I mnt bike everyday that i'm not on the lake and if it's not raining outside. I ride a GT Ricochet w/a couple upgrades.

Mnt biking is such fun, hitting the trails and going around the switchbacks, over drops, rock piles, logs and all that fun stuff. Mnt biking sure is a rush when you fly through the trails to and just have to hop over whatever is in your way and slide around the turns nearly avoiding trees. Oh, great stuff, not to mention the infamous 4foot+ drops.... Razz

I mt. bike every once in a while. Mostly just easy or medium trails and around town and stuff. I'm taking my bike to college with me next year, instead of a car, so I'll probably be riding every day. I had a question about it though. I'm getting a new front fork (my old one is shot), but I'm not sure what to get. Like I said, I'm a recreational rider mostly, and I also don't want to spend too much. I found good online deals on the Rock Shox Judy XC and SL, and also the Manitou Axel Comp. If anyone knows anything about these, or knows of any other good deals, let me know in a PM or something. Thanks.

Good for you. I don't see why a self proclaimed recreational rider needs one of those bikes? Or needs to be belittled be someone who does?

you seriously like your Jamis?? I've heard nothing but complaints, My friend had a Jamis Komodo and sold it mid-season and went back to Specialized, he rides a specialized s-works hardail now, I've had a GT and a Gary Fisher and I will never buy anything other than specialized now. The only thing good out of your post was the Fox Float but I'm not even to sure on that. You just kinda sound like one of thoes stuck up riders that you see on the trail that have every expensive piece of equipment but thats about all you have. It not the bike it the rider.

im not a "self proclaimed recreational rider." anyways sorry to be a jerk...the only reason i have nice stuff is cuz i work at a shop and can afford it....yeah i like my Jamis...Jamis hard tails are nice as are jamis steel....which my bike is. They arent that good with aluminum and arent that good with full suspension although u see them in all the reviews as being a good bike (the XLT). sooo yeah i seriously like it, its been good to me and ive beaten the shite outta it. also i live in harrisonburg VA which is a MECA for mountain biking on the east coast...many pro riders come outta there....i however will not be one of them haha. But i am a Cat 3 racer sooo minus_gravity i am actaully good and not just own nice stuff...i own nice stuff cuz i pay little for it and thats all....sorry to be a jerk before....and oh yeah i shave my legs...so u can make fun of me Shocked

sorry to go off its just that I run into alot of people on the trail that have everything that you can imagine but I usually run into them because we are passing them. I guess I'm just not used to someone saying that people own crappy bikes cause the group I ride with doesn't say much one way or another about the bike that you ride, but alot of them ride some pretty nice bikes. and I also shouldn't say much becasue I have spent alot of money on my bike, the only thing that is stock is the frame everything else I have parted out and replaced with higher end parts

no the problem is just im a jackass saying that those bikes are crappy...like u said its not the bike its ther rider and i guess i was just in a bad moood or something or i post a lot of crap like that. anyways your bike isnt crappy, but it must be funny to see a hardrock with XTR on it. i have a hardrock and its a pos but its from like 1997 and it has the loewst shimano parts ever and it was my first mtn bike and it suited me fine

yeah they joke about it being the nisest hordrock there ever was...I got it when I was 16 befor I was really into biking. When I really got into it I never had the money to buy a better bike so I would slowly buy more and more parts and now its a pretty nice bike but I'm about due to get a new bike. but the ol'rock works for now and will have to last me atleast one more season till I can get the money for a good bike.

P.S. seven11dmd, all anger toward you is retracted
freerider4, I'm checking that site out
