Hey everybody,

I'm new to this site and forums really in general, so I hope some of you can help me out with this problem.

I purchased a brand new Liquid Force anthem wakeskate a few months ago. Since I am from Minnesota, the lakes are frozen in the winter, so the small time frame i have when the lakes are warm enough is only about June through September each year (I know, its sad), so the board I bought has never been used yet. I have been away at college until just this past week, so the board has just been sitting in my room. When I returned home I was very upset to find that my new wakeskate bottom is completely covered in small cracks. I looked at the warranty from the website I bought it from and it lasted only 90 days, which is already up. My own mistake there. The cracks are about an inch apart and run the whole length of the board. I tried to attach a photo to this post as an attachment so hopefully that works so you can see what i mean. I can take more/better photos too if you really want.

My guess is that for some reason the wood in the outer layer dried up just sitting there? I would think some sort of urethane(?) coating could be applied to prevent further damage and keep the paint from chipping off, yet still hold up in the water? Do you know if there are different types that would work or not work? - such as I think there are water and oil based products? Are there any particular products that you know of that would work well? I tried to do some research on the internet but all I could find were instructions using epoxy to fix major damages, but i need something to cover the entire board. I went to Home Depot and they suggested that I use this stuff called superglaze pour on epoxy ( http://www.newparks.com/parksclear-pg.html ) but I am skeptical if it will hold up in the water, so I decided to ask you all first to get some more opinions

So what do you think I should do? Suggestions? I really appreciate any help you can give me, Thanks

And there are some on this site who think I am crazy for not caring for LF product...

thing is, almost all of their boards look like siht after just a few pulls, or one rail...

on the lighter side, it's probably just the paint. either way Crying or Very sad

PS, did the ply's delam any? that seems to happen to all the LF's I come across.

PPS to all the LF lovers, I have not seen (or heard) of any problems with the 08's...

Hey thanks for the quick replies. It's not just the paint - on both ends of the board you can see that the cracks go through almost a full layer of wood Sad this photo should show that pretty well i think. Still no good suggestions?

ouch! and this thing has NEVER seen water? it shouldn't be doing this. but if it makes you feel better, i've been shredding my oak for 2 years with cracks like that, and they're alot deeper and wider, it holds up fine.

Who are you?
I'm also from bemidji.

Where did you buy it, I would call/bring it back to where you bought it and show them. Most places will replace it.

yea wood decks do that .........................gorilla glue is the best .. just use it sparingly since it seems to bubble up when it seals and drys

thanks yeah i'll probably call up LF tomorrow and see if i can pull some strings. I e-mailed them last night too actually, but no response yet. I got it from evogear online so i can't exactly bring it into the store. I e-mailed them just tonight also. Another idea - anybody make their own boards? If you have what did you use to seal the wood? I would assume the same stuff would work in my case. But then again, not sure with the paint and such.

That's crazy ethan31.... small world to find another Bemidji person on this site, especially that quick. Also since im sure 99.something% of the users on this site haven't ever heard of the town. my name is Lee Holtman I live on Lake Julia, 2005 bhs grad what about you? you could facebook me if you have it.

MY LF had the same paint cracks after the first time in water. So thats just a paint issue. However that crack in the wood is not suppose to be there.
