Can anyone tell me...will this unit deep water start a rider of about 190 lbs. Also, how does the throttle set-up work. Does it require a person operating while the other rides?

cb71x, i havent used the 6.5 but the 8hp will definitely deep start a 190lbs + guy easily.

And YES you need someone to drive it while someone rides Smash

ive ridden a bunch of winches and the pulldozer is my favorite for sure. super smooth pull with more then enough power. even the 8hp is easy to move around. the wheels are really convienent and the frame make it lifting it not awkward.

cb71x, it really isnt that dumb a question actually dude, the guy who built the frame for my winch said he was thinkin of building a wireless waterproof remote throttle for his winch, only problem he was having was trying to get it to stop before the handle went slamming through the spool feeder.

I rekon but if u had a reflector on your ski rope so that when it picks up at that point to dis engage the engine, u could basically have a remote wireless set up.
Set your winch up, press a button to engage the winch and then have it automatically stop when it reaches a point in the line. Would help a lot i rekon.

Actually im gonna try that the next time i create a winch, dont know how ill do it but it sounds like a good enough idea, spesh if u could pre set what speed u want your winch to go at and at what length of rope you want it to dis engage.

the hive is so nice, but 15000 us is just too much. i mean that's a bike, boat, ski, tons of rent/mortgage payments, etc. it is a work of art though. and using a radio frequency remote to start the winch would be cool. maybe using some sort of infrared system to cut the winch and/or activate the brake would work. like the trip for a home alarm.
