| the value of the dollar is down, inflation is rising fast, materials are getting more expensive, and the marine industry is hurting. |

| I've heard tale of a company called New thats sales durable skates for relatively inexpensive prices...but maybe its just myth. |

meh...dunno about that.
HL Catalyst/Catalyst 2.0/Byerly 107"
2003 Retail price: $270
2004 Retail price: $200
2005 Retail price: $240
2006 Retail price: $240
2007 Retail price: $210
2008 Retail price: $230
LF's high end skates have changed too much recently to make charting retail prices worthwhile, but the Anthem and Faction have both remained at the $100 and $150 price point since 2005.
What you might just be noticing is that over the past few years we've seen an increase in the amount of "premium" decks hitting the market place. Stuff like Integrity and the SST and Zariel all hitting the $300 mark. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

cassette parted ways with LF in 2003, not 05. But I agree with your (scott a) second comment--I think a greater number of boards are falling into that category (though not necessarily the 300.00 mark). Back in 2003, the 4-trac retailed at 250.00, which was one of the most expensive boards for that year (and I think the year before that, hyperlites wood concaves actually retailed at that). Now that's pretty close to what a lot of wood concaves are going for.
I think mitch is onto something as well... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| wakemitch, haha, I don't know what your wetsuit smells like but i love the smell of neoprene. If you're gonna pee in it you really should rinse it out with clean fresh water after use. |
